What happens when we optimize your EPUB file

Amazon doesn't accept all EPUB files, so we run all EPUB files through their Kindle Previewer to make sure readers will be able to open it on Kindle. When we come across an error (usually related to formatting), we optimize the file for you to resolve this error.

We recommend downloading the optimized file from the Booksprout server to make sure it still looks good. If there are formatting issues, you are welcome to delete the file and upload a new EPUB to Booksprout.

We recommend uploading EPUB files that are compatible with Amazon to Booksprout. That way, we won't have to optimize the file for you and risk disturbing your formatting and the expected reader experience.
