How to Review on Smashwords

If you're new to reviewing on Smashwords, follow these steps to leave your review on their website and prove to Booksprout that you've completed your review.

Note: The process to review on Smashwords is different because you need to have "purchased" a copy to be able to leave a review. That's why we request that authors provide you with a coupon that you can use to download the book for free on Smashwords.

Step 1 - Get your review on Booksprout

1. On the Booksprout website or app, navigate to the My Review Copies page.
2. Find the book you are ready to review under the "Due" tab.
3. Click "Continue Review" under the book information.
4. Click on "Smashwords".
5. Copy the coupon code.
6. Click on "Download book."
7. On the Smashwords website, click on the yellow "Buy" button.
8. Paste your coupon on the checkout page and click "Enter".
9. The book will be added to your library.
10. Go back to the Booksprout website.
11. Copy your review.
12. Click on "Review on Smashwords".

Step 2 - Add your review to Smashwords

1. Scroll to the "Reviews" section at the bottom of the page.
2. Click the yellow "Post a Review" button.
3. Paste your review.
4. Add your star rating.
5. Click "Submit" when you are satisfied with your review.

Step 3 - Confirm your review on Booksprout

1. On Booksprout, find the book this review is for on the My Review Copies page.
2. Click on "Continue Review".
3. Click on "Smashwords".
4. If you have left your review, click "Yes" under "Have you completed the review on Smashwords?"
5. Click "Done".
